Ashraf Alkhairy and his academic career

Ashraf Alkhairy has done his Bachelor's degrees from M.I.T. Cambridge, MA, USA in 1985. He wrote his thesis on the “Image Coding Using Short-Time Fourier Transform Magnitude” and was also the winner of the Guillemin prize for best undergraduate thesis in EE.

Alkhairy has completed his Master's degrees from M.I.T. Cambridge, MA, USA in 1988 by completing the thesis on “Identification of Small Continuous-Time Systems”. Plus, he was member of Sigma Xi honorary research society.

Alkhairy has done PhD degree in 1991 in Electrical Engineering And Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA. He research project was on “Optimal Product and Manufacturing Process Selection : Issues of Formulation and Methods for Parameter Design” and also developed the Alkhairy quality control method. 

Additionally, he won the Guillemin prize for the best undergraduate thesis, and developed a new method for quality control. During his tenure as a research scientist (1991-1992) with the MIT Leaders for Manufacturing Program he co-supervised graduate thesis, and co-taught a graduate course on multidimensional signal processing, and assisted Chrysler, Kodak, HP and Polaroid in characterizing and improving their manufacturing productivity.

Later, Alkhairy completed his Masters in Business Administration from KFUPM Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in June 2005 with specialization in strategic management, finance and economics. He was honored by the KFUPM President for academic excellence.
