• As a Senior Principal Consultant and Co-Investigator at the Office of VP for Research at KACST, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (September 2010- August 2012).
• As the Head and In-Charge at Future Studies Unit at KACST, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (April 2009- August 2010).
• As the Founding Dean of College of Engineering and a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (July 2006- April 2009).
• As the Senior Member, Engineering Research and Technology Officer and General Manager of university Preparatory Program at Alfaisal University Core Team (October 2005- June 2006).

Pertaining to his education, Ashraf Alkhairy has completed his Ph.D., Bachelors, and Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He possesses a dual SB/SM program. Later, he completed his Masters in Business Administration from KFUPM, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
